◾️What to prepare
- 2 g matcha for cold tea (a seasonal matcha offering by Yamamasa-Koyamaen: a stronger blend with a distinguished aroma even at cold temperatures) (Regular matcha can also be used)
- Whisk / tea scoop
- Matcha bowl (a glass-made matcha bowl gives extra coolness)
- Lukewarm water (a little)
- Ice cubes(a suitable amount)
◾️Directions
Put 1 and a 1/2 to 2 scoops of matcha (2 g) into a bowl. Using a tea strainer will make it easier to mix without creating lumps.
Add a little bit of lukewarm water and mix with the whisk. Warming up the whisk with hot water before mixing will make it easier to mix with less damage to the matcha.
Once you are done with mixing and sure that there are no lumps, add cold water (30-40cc) and mix quickly with the whisk in a pattern like the shape of the letter "m" for about 15 seconds.
Put down the whisk. (there are ways to prepare it without generating foam)
Put in ice cubes, and it is ready to drink. The best timing to enjoy the tea is when the ice starts to melt a little. It may be better to prepare the match slightly thicker in readiness for the melting ice.
