We have introduced security seals on our 300g and 150g matcha tins to prevent unauthorized repackaging of the contents and to help our customers use our products with confidence. As our products are now sold and distributed through an increasing variety of channels, both in Japan and overseas, this measure is intended to protect our authorized retailers and our customers.

What Is the Security Seal?

The seal is applied where the lid meets the body of the tin. Once removed, it leaves the words 「開封済」 ("Opened") printed on the tin. If a seal of the same design has been applied but does not leave this mark when removed, the product may not be genuine.

When the Seals Began

We have begun applying the seal, in order, to products with a best-before date of May 2027 or later. Products with a best-before date of April 2027 or earlier do not carry this seal; please note this in advance.

For products with a best-before date of May 2027 or later, please contact us ― noting the store where you purchased the product ― if either of the following applies:

• No seal is attached
• The words 「開封済」 ("Opened") do not remain after the seal is removed

About the Best-Before Date Label

Depending on the distribution channel, the content or format of the best-before date label may differ from our standard labeling. If you have any questions, please contact us with the name of the store where you purchased the product.
